**Update 11/13: After driving the car for a couple weeks, there is no leak. I do believe the crush washer was the problem. It should be replaced on every oil change.** Oil change on a 2017 Smart Car ForTwo Passion, Model 453. Oil filter: BECK ARNLEY 041-0881 Oil Filter ($16) 0W-40 Synthetic Oil, 5 Qts: AmazonBasics Full Synthetic Motor Oil, Euro Formula for Turbo-Charged Vehicles, API SN, A3/B4, 0W-40, 5 Quart ($25) 8 mm Square head: CTA Tools 2036 Square Head Drain Plug Socket, 8mm ($3) Major General Steps: 1. Drain oil from oil plug under car, using 8 mm square head socket 2. Remove oil filter cap, using 27 mm socket, along with oil filter 3. After all oil has been drained from car: 3a. Replace with new seal ring/gasket on oil plug bolt and put back on car / tighten 3b. Replace with new oil filter and oil cover gasket on oil cover and put back on car/ tighten 4. Access engine - Fill oil (approx 3.8 qts) using funnel. Check dipstick to ensure proper oil amount, which should be between the two notches 4a. Make sure the oil cap is back on tight and the dipstick all the way in 4b. Put engine cover back on Additional info (Thanks J in Comments): Reset the service interval warning by scrolling to it with left arrows and hold "OK" when the text blinks, keep holding some more until it resets - total time of holding is about a minute.
