Denon DRM-550 Cassette Deck Demo

Completely tore down transport mechanism, cleaned and lubricated all moving and sliding parts with specialist top shelf lubricants - works as new. Squeak is from crappy cassette, it is the only one I currently have for testing, machine is silent. Backing plate is supposed to be black, however it had surface rust traveling up from the bottom edge front and back. It had to be blasted and this replacement paint will never allow rust again. The transport has 2 motors and that plate becomes slightly warmer during operation because of this - in certain extreme environments it will rust due to condensation forming. This unit is ex UK, I doubt this would happen in Australia. everything else other than the plate was perfect and just required cleaning and lubing. The front door torsion spring had also fallen off and it took a while to work out how it was supposed to go back on. The unit sounds awesome but as usual, you are not allowed to play copyright material on youtube without being hit with a big stick.
