We drive the new petrol-electric hybrid Mazda MX-30 and see what this small SUV is like to drive. A petrol engine in a Mazda MX-30? You read that right. What was born as an electric-only vision is now available in Australia with the same two-litre petrol engine as you’d get in a Mazda CX-30 or Mazda 3 small car. That said, in the MX-30, there is a 24-volt hybrid system bolted to it to improve fuel economy by 0.1L/100km. But is the MX-30 hybrid worth buying now, or should you wait a few months and buy the fully electric Mazda MX-30 we reviewed last week? Well, keep in mind the BEV version will be around $10-15,000 more expensive than this petrol hybrid… Or is the simple solution to buy a Toyota C-HR Hybrid and call it a day? Let’s discuss. In today’s video, Iain Curry takes a detailed look at the high-spec MX-30 Astina M Hybrid to give you detailed insights about this vehicle. What do you think of this car? Leave a comment below.
