Huaihai Road, Shanghai, China

Huaihai Road (or 淮海路 Huaihai Lu), with its numerous boutiques and departmental stores, is the more upscale of the two popular shopping districts in Shanghai; the other being Nanjing Road. Huaihai Road has a more distinct local flavour in contrast to the touristy Nanjing Road. The quaint tree-lined avenue of Huaihai Middle Road (one of three sections of Huaihai Road) in the French Concession, makes a lovely stroll and is great for people-watching Huaihai Road is easily accessible via several subway lines.
