Jesu Dulcis Memoria- Tomas Luis de Victoria, Saratoga High School Chamber Choir

The prayer that constitutes the basis of this Latin motet is attributed to St. Bernard of Clairvaux, and is 53 Stanzas in length. Fortunately, the Renaissance composer Tomas Luis de Victoria (1548-1611) set far fewer. This was the first selection of the opening set of 3 pieces from the SHS fall concert "Spirits and Spooks: Things That Go Bump in the Night." The full opening set was Jesu Dulcis (Victoria), Komm Susser Tod (Bach), Abide with Me (Jaserse).
