Hello, viewers! Today, I will show you how I managed to get into the BIOS settings locked behind a password on my Lenovo Z580 laptop. This tutorial might work for other laptops as well, but your mileage may vary. This should not be dangerous for experienced users, but be warned: do this at own risk. No warranty. The first thing to try is to type in generic passwords. On my machine, the password was: 12345. Yes, this really is the default password! If it does not work for you, try 1234, 12345678, 0000, 00000, or password. If none of these work, your laptop should display a BIOS RECOVERY CODE. Go to bios-pw.org, type in the recovery code, then try the generated BIOS passwords. If none of this works, try to find a disassembly or teardown video for your model. After you find it, find the CMOS battery, take it out, take out your laptop battery as well, and press power button to drain capacitors. After a few minutes, all capacitors should be drained, and because the CMOS battery is out, your BIOS should reset. Then, you can enter without a password, or try the default passwords again. If any of these methods worked, let me know in the comments, like the video and subscribe!
