Phillip Sear plays a published version of Van Cliburn&arrangement of the famous &Nights' ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This very famous tune was known to me as a signature tune to &Moscow&on shortwave radio as a boy. It was written in 1955 by Vasily Solovyov-Sedoi (Василий Павлович Соловьёв-Седой) (1907–79). This is a Russian published edition, ascribed to Van Cliburn, who played a version of the song at a reception for the Gorbachevs at the White House in 1987 - having previously played it as an encore at a concert in Moscow in 1958, shortly after he won the Tchaikovsky Competition there. My thumbnail shows a Soviet stamp issued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the composer&birth. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear
