A Farewell (Most Final)

Your support means the world to me. 😊 A Reflection on Friendship and Farewell Lately, I’ve found myself reflecting on the quiet unraveling of friendships, how they end, and the ways they linger. That led me to write a poem exploring such a farewell. It’s not something I often do; in fact, I’ve spent over a year shaping one about a butterfly into something I truly liked. This tune grew from that poetic impulse. It’s inspired by the emotional terrain of loss and memory, and by the imagined scene of two old friends sharing a final moment: they’ve returned home after an evening at the ballet, warmed by wine or brandy, and the fire between them. They talk deep into the night… and then one quietly disappears, never to be seen again. A kind of Shakespearian ghosting. The music carries a modern energy, while the story it tells is timeless.
