Jean Martyn plays the grand piano, hammond and theatre organ.

Orchestrally trained in harmony, conducting, choral and composition, Jean performs classical works on piano and classical pipe organ, where she excels in the style of Bach. She studied Bach, Gershwin and Rachmaninoff and then capable of performing jazz in the style of Oscar Peterson. She was tutored in jazz by the late great jazz musician Johnny Dankworth. Jean is equally at home on Classical organs and has given recitals in Europe . She has performed jazz on Hammond in seven American States and also in England and the Netherlands. Recently she performed a concert on a Steinway piano in Delhi and New Orleans . She regularly performs for charitable organisations including St James’s Palace for the Not Forgotten. Her styles of music include Classical, jazz, ballads, popular music, boogie and blues. Jean Martyn has regularly appeared on UK television programmes and toured the concert scene, entertaining audiences. Over the years, she has raised huge amounts for various charities. She shared her musical skills as Head of Music to pupils to diploma levels.
