This 2002 Skoda Octavia 1.9 SDI had an ABS light coming up on the dash which meant there was a problem somewhere with the ABS system, the end result was that if the cars brakes were applied hard the car would skid as opposed to providing the anti lock function which prevents a skid. Using a chap pro scan scanner i was able to determine that it was the rear right sensor which was at fault, this saved a lot of time without it i would have had to remove every wheel individually and look for any causes of the fault. The cause of the problem was evident on the right rear wheel, flakes of rust had become magnetically attracted to the sensor and were sticking to it, that resulted in the signal coming from the sensor being wrong and showing up this fault, although it had also damaged the sensor, as cleaning didn&work i had to replace the sensor. The sensor was a bit tricky to remove, in the end it was wrecked when it was removed, and there was no bolt to hold the new one in place although it works perfectly well.
