Constructing an Ewald Sphere

This video is a short animation describing the construction of an Ewald sphere in reciprocal space. It also shows the derivation of the Bragg&law in both real and reciprocal space. Understanding the construction of an Ewald sphere will enable crystallographers to make the right choices of experimental settings, such as the X-ray wavelength and the diffraction orientation of a crystal, during a single crystal diffraction experiment, to obtain the best-quality data.
