Money For Nothing - Dire Straits (Guitar Cover Playthrough with MXR Duke of Tone pedal) One of the most recognizable and fun riffs ever. I think Mark Knopfler used a Gibson Les Paul on this song but I approximated the tone with my Fender American Performer Telecaster Hum by rolling off the tone knob almost completely on the bridge pickup. To play this properly, use your bare fingers (no picks) and try snapping the strings for a staccato feel and don’t forget to aim for those sneaky harmonics between the 4th and 5th frets. Pedals used are the new MXR Duke of Tone (awesome pedal!) on its Overdrive setting and a TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 Mini Reverb on a Hall setting going to a Strymon Iridium Marshall amp sim.
