Танцевальная гармония в движении
Tamara Sinyavskaya is a Russian mezzo who I was not familiar with until I found this “Eugene Onegin” on vinyl conducted by Rostropovich. I should have known more about this singer, since she sang at the Bolshoi for many years and was awarded People&Artist of the USSR. In addition she was married to the famous Russian singer Muslim Magometovich Magomayev, who was dubbed the Russian Sinatra. I look forward to hearing more of Tamara Sinyavskaya’s artistry. A translation is below. I have included Tatiana’s lines prior to Olga’s aria. They are sung by Galina Vishnevskaya. I will play Vishnevskaya singing Tatiana’s letter scene soon. TATIANA a book in her hand How I love to dream when I hear these songs, and float away somewhere, somewhere far off! OLGA Ah, Tanya, Tanya! You&always dreaming! But I am quite unlike you, I feel merry when I hear singing. dancing a few steps &the bridge, the little bridge, along the hazel planks …' I was not made for melancholy singing, I do not like to dream in silence, nor, on the balcony in the dark night, to sigh, to sigh, to sigh from the depths of my soul. Why should I sigh, when full of happiness, my youthful days flow gently by? I am carefree and full of fun, and everyone calls me a child! For me life will always, always be sweet, and I shall retain, as I always have, light-hearted confidence, be playful, carefree, merry! Light-hearted confidence, etc. I was not made for melancholy sighing, etc.
