Eight-year-old Alex Pruitt stays home in suburban Chicago because of chickenpox and accidentally becomes the owner of a toy car with a valuable military microchip hidden inside it. A group of international criminals is hunting for the device, ready to search the entire neighborhood to recover the stolen technology. While the adults are busy with their own concerns and refuse to take the boy’s fears seriously, Alex begins his own investigation, watches the suspicious strangers, and gradually realizes that his house has become the main target of dangerous people.
