So you noticed that the message "Unlock iPhone to use accessories” is preventing your iPhone from connecting to your computer or even charging? This message is a new security feature Apple added in iOS 11.4.1 and later, called USB Restricted Mode. This means your password-protected iPhone won’t be recognized and connected by the computer and USB accessory until it’s unlocked. USB Restricted Mode protects the iPhone from unauthorized access by USB connections, but in some cases, you may find it annoying and want to disable it. So, this video will show you how to turn off the USB Restricted Mode on iPhone, so that you won’t see the message “Unlock iPhone to use accessories”. In case you forget your passcode and can’t unlock your iPhone to use accessories, it will be a bit of a hassle. There is currently no way to bypass the “Unlock your iPhone to use accessories” message without unlocking the iPhone. So, you need to put the locked iPhone into recovery mode for it to successfully connect to the computer, and then remove the passcode to unlock the iPhone.
