The Choiseul Pigeon, Microgoura meeki.mov

The Choiseul crested pigeon is a presumed extinct bird on the island of Choiseul in the Solomon Islands. It was last seen and collected in 1904 and since has never been found. On a resent trip to the American Museum of Natural History, botanist and Solomon naturalist Myknee Sirikolo was able to gain access to the museums rare collections to film this footage.
