The Onion Song or the Onion Song (French: Chanson de l&is an anonymous French war song from the Revolution and the First Empire. It was the favorite tune of the grenadiers of the Imperial Guard. The theme of this song quotes to the letter the call of the horns in the overture to Etienne Megul&opera "The Pursuit of Young Henri", which premiered on May 1, 1797 in the Favard Hall in Paris.
