"Ave Maria" is an aria, composed by (1925-1973) c. 1970. Vavilov himself published and recorded it in 1970 on the Melodiya label with the ascription "Anonymous". It is believed that organist Mark Shakhin was the first to attribute it falsely to (1551-1618) after the death of Vavilov. The organist Oleg Yanchenko made an arrangement in 1987, after which the piece became famous.
