Tascam DA-3000 DSD vs MX5050 Analog Tape

Both units have the exact same mix-down takes from the DAW. Both the Tascam DA-3000 (5.6 DSD file) and the Otari MX5050 (15 ips) are playing back through a Dangerous D-Box for back and forth comparison; the D-Box is patched directly into my video camera. One thing to mention, is the Otari MX5050 was brought up to specification when I lived on the East coast; this video was recorded after I moved to the West coast without the Otari being rechecked for calibration. To my ears, the tape machine sounds more open and smoother than DSD. I think DSD sounds clearer, but my ears prefer tape; obviously working with tape is more work than DSD though. I tried to level balance each file for playback the best I could.
