The Nikon D3400 has 10 creative effects in total and they can be accessed by turning the DIAL MODE round to the effects selection and then navigating by using the ROTATING DIAL when looking at the back screen. The creative effects consist of night vision, super vivid, pop, photo illustration, toy camera effect, miniature effect, selective color, silhouette, high key and low key. All of the effects are really creative and can really add to the quality of your photography. The great thing is that, in many cases, the effects can be applied before hand or afterwards in the RETOUCH MENU and also can be applied both to stills and in many cases also to video. So let us now just have a look at a few of them. Super vivid for example really increases the contrast and also the color saturation to give a very bright and bold image. Whilst photo illustration really sharpens the outlines and simplifies the colors to make it more like a poster. Miniature effect blurs the outer two-thirds of the image to give the subject in the middle more prominence.
