Nektar&Impact GX61 desk friendly 61 key midi controller is a real gem amongst a crowded market of inexpensive midi controllers. It&sealed 61 keys feel responsive and well made and the overall design of the Nektar Impact GX61 is solid, sleek and attractive to look at. With a fairly shallow depth and height it&a good fit under my iMac making it a great choice for home studios short on space. At this price point though there has to be some sacrifices and with minimal button controls on the controller itself you&need to take the time to learn how to utilise it&many key switches and lengthy control paths. Don&throw that paper manual away! The GX61 though is a great entry level controller with enough keys to keep piano players and programmers happy. Those who are looking for more pads for drum programming may want to look elsewhere.
