Today I will explain why you need an adaptive PID in the Filament Extruder for your 3D printer. In the Filament Extruder without a PID you have a hard time to set the right temperature for your 3D printer (Creality CR-10, Ultimaker, ..) to make it round. With an adaptive PID controller Rex c100 you can adjust the controller so that it learns to approach the set temperature the PLA or ABS filament needs for your 3D printer. In the video you can see that I set the desired temperature for the 3D filament at the start at the filament extruder about 30 degrees below my target temperature. The PID controls at the beginning about 30 degrees over the target temperature which the 3D filament needs later. Then I set the target temperature. It takes about 3-5 minutes then the PID control in the filament extruder has reached the maximum and fluctuates max. 1 degree above or below. The tension unit in the filament extruder showed an error after about 300 hours of 3D filament production. The silicone rolls push to one side and hit against the wall, then at some point the pulling unit stops because the stepper motor Nema 23 does not have enough power to turn further. I will change that. But I could use the 3D filament for my 3D printers for a long time and saved a lot of money with it. Therefore I can only recommend everyone to build their own filament extruder for their 3D printer. It&worth it in the long run. Why you should become a patron you can read here: As a bonus or...
