This is my process on modifying the Microbrute to have MIDI out. I battled for over a week whether or not i should attempt this. Ultimately, I decided MIDI Out on this synth outweighed the possibility of damaging it. Really happy this mod works, as it makes this device much more valuable to me. An analog synth that has MIDI Out, CV out and compact footprint. Yes please! I decided to go with a stereo 3.5mm jack due to the lack of available space to fit a full 5 din midi jack. A 5 din may work, however I took the conservative approach and decided on using an adapter cable. I spent a good amount of time practicing on non functional electronics before attempting this. The pin on the LPC2361 is extremely tiny and is tough to get a good solder joint. Only attempt this mod if you have a fine pitch soldering experience or have broken equipment to practice on first. Please take your time so you don&ruin your synth! References: Thanks to Nicolas Schulcz for proving this is possible and the MIDI out wiring diagram. Note: the standard way to wire a MIDI Out jack is to use two resistors, one for voltage and one for data (TX). So there may be ways to improve this mod. however, Nicolas solution works wonderfully so I decided to stick with his original schematic. I only made two adjustments, and that was for the solder locations for the ground and voltage wire. Thanks to the hackabrute site for providing all of the Arturia schematics and diagrams used in the video.
