VIA ROMEN, U.S-based Romani (Gypsy) music and dance ensemble recorded this famous Romani song called “Djelem, Djelem” which also known as the Romani anthem. Video from the shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina. Vadim Kolpakov, the artistic director of the band represents the Romani musical culture around the world for couple of decades since his teenage, together with Via Romen they developed the new sounds by mixing several types of music, including Spanish flamenco, jazz, Jewish and other Eastern European styles. The April 8th is the International Romani Day, and Via Romen ensemble would like to contribute this song to this day, and wish everyone all the best, health, success, prosperity, and piece!
