The United States Navy and the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom are the two most powerful Naval Forces in the world, they are both continuously deployed around the world, taking both leading and supporting roles in global naval activities. Air Craft Carriers are considered the "Capital Ships" of the modern navy and are the most powerful components of any force, Both the United Kingdom and the United States have had a long history of naval aviation and that continues to this day. This is the first part in a series of videos comparing the 21st century navys of the United States of America and the United Kingdom. This video is a detailed comparison between the future Air Craft Carriers of the United Kingdoms Royal Navy and the United States Navy. In this video several factors will be compared including, Air Wing size and make up, size, propulsion, cost and design. The Queen Elizabeth Class of two ships (HMS Queen Elizabeth & HMS Prince of Wales) are fully designed and are under construction, they are expected to be completed by 2014 and 2016, in time for the F-35 Lightning and the Lynx Wildcat. They will be the largest warships ever constructed for the Royal Navy and the largest warships in Europe. The Gerald R. Ford Class of three ships (eventually up to ten) will replace the USS Enterprise and the two oldest NIMITZ class air craft carriers.
