OpenCore Legacy Patcher I/II: macOS Ventura and Macbook Air 2017

Having acquired a freshly "obsolete" Apple Air 2017, yet wishing to install a new and unsupported operating system with future updates and upgrades on it, I resorted to trying out the OpenCore Legacy Patcher — and that worked out extremely fine. This is a walkthrough / record of that experience. Even for someone perfectly unacquainted with the Macintosh and macOS like myself, this went comparatively smoothly, apart from a couple of blunders on my part, shown in this sort of "documentary of an installation by a man alien to Macs". I hope this will give you a good idea on what the OpenCore Legacy patched update feels like, even for someone who has never done it before.
