BMW E46 (Pre Facelift) Fuel Filter Replacement

This is a simple tutorial on how to replace your pre facelift (up to model year 2000) BMW 3 series fuel filter. E46/Z3 from 2001 and up use a different filter which has the pressure regulator integrated, and the two styles are not compatible. I used Hengst H108WK on my car, it runs about $10-15 online and in stores. My car (~138k miles, northeast) had very stiff rubber lines on the inlet and outlet of the filter. To get them off I had to pry the rear one with a flat blade screwdriver, and the front one I had to grip tightly with pliers and twist it off.
