PS3 Browsers (x2!) Pro Guide

2019/09/17: Sadly, after nine years of service (since June 2010), I&decided to end the hosting of the PS3 Bookmarklet, and associated domain (danny8bit.net), which will stop working shortly. I cover the following PS3 browser (v1 and v2 (introduced in 2/2012) ) topics: • Using a temporary user account as alternative to incognito browsing. • How to access the old browser, which you can use to stream MP4 videos (especially on mobile version of sites), and due to its better Adobe Flash performance, which includes support for the D-Pad, so may well work better with retro Flash games. • Turning JavaScript off, when not needed, to preserve main cookies, and to reduce frequency of browser crashes. • Using PS3 Bookmarklet on YouTube video pages to fix video playback, with option to save video. Also expands video description, which is not displayed at all in PS3 YouTube app. • Quick demo of bookmarklet&cool XMB style UI for your YT subscriptions video feed, with hardcore usage tips, including filtered searches. • Using Google&cache for Web pages that don&load in the browser. • How to setup and use the browser&find text feature. One tip I forgot to mention for the Subs XMB UI, is that where saving the 360p version of the video, which doesn&keep the video title, you can grab the title from the video area, which has been converted to a text area (click area, and copy title to the clipboard etc).
