Слава Впередсмотрящему, or, "Glory to the Ones Who Look Forward!", is a Soviet song celebrating space exploration and the achievements of the Soviet Space Program. The song was composed by Alexandra Pakhmutova and exists in a body of similar work that strives to promote famous Soviet cosmonauts, such as Yuri Gagarin and Gherman Titov. For much of the USSR&later existence, spaceflight and technology were viewed as the mechanisms through which true communism - in line with the visions of Marx and Lenin - might be achieved. The most famous rendition of the song was performed by the A. V. Alexandrov Ensemble - better known as the Red Army Choir.
