I Kwan is a Mnong. He has just turned ten. Today, he goes hunting in the forest with his father, Ma Kwan. Of all the peoples of the high southern plateaux, the Mnong are among the last to go regularly into the forest. They capture a sort of big lizard there, the varanus, as well as snakes, which they sell to the Vietnamese. After carefully searching the rocks, Ma Kwan points out some interesting track marks to his son, at the edge of a hole. Their direction indicates that a snake is hiding inside. The snake must be taken alive, in spite of the danger this represents. Extract from the series “Masters of the Spirits - I Kwan, a Mnong child” Direction: Jérôme Ségur Production: ZED #snakes
