Citroen-уникальность: особенности, характеристики и индивидуальность
As you may or may not know, Citroen XM&have remote controls for the stereo on the steering wheel. This makes it safer since the driver doesn&have to look down or remove hands from steering wheel to change channels or tracks. Now if you decide to fit an aftermarket head unit then you&going to need some additional patch leads/adaptors to enable your make of ICE to talk to the Citroen steering wheel radio controls. Few months ago I fitted a Kenwood KDC-U30R to my 1995 XM 2.1 TD auto hatchback but didn&bother with the remote controls. However that soon gets annoying so I decided to fit the remote patch leads and adaptors which are sourced from &After buying the main patch-in connector set PC99-X17-CITROEN I went ti fit it only to find that it needs an additional adaptor - part number PC99-KEN which covers both Din and single wire. This is part 1 and it basically shows how to remove the upper centre-console storage cubby hole so you can access the rear of the stereo thus enabling the cables to be positioned so the unit can sit in correct position and that no cables are pinched or strained. There really isn&a great deal of room behind the upper console so I¬ looking forward to trying to fit the extra loom that&needed for the remote controls. Hopefully the final fitting will be in part 2.
