This Beginning Sounds Song really makes developing phonological awareness fun and is great exercise too. In this educational song, your children follow my movements, say the action word and then say the beginning sound of each word. I say the word and the beginning sound four times so children can really hear the word and its beginning sound. The song is designed so by saying the action word and beginning sound several times, children have adequate time to freely do the movements. Phonemic awareness is the ability to perceive individual sounds in spoken language. It is this awareness that makes learning to read with phonics fun and easy. An essential part of learning to read is hearing the beginning sounds in words. This skill is essential to meeting the Common Core and national standards in language arts. I wrote the song with all the action words so children can really be active as they learn and have fun moving together. This is a great song for having fun with words. The children are also listening and repeating while developing awareness for beginning sounds. Many teachers refer to this skill as beginning sounds, initial sounds or isolating sounds, and it’s an extremely important skill to help your children become successful readers. Your children will have lots of fun moving and singing and not even know they’re developing phonological awareness skills. You say what I say right after me You move like I move just follow me Let&have lot&of fun, play this way...
