Nakamichi BX-300E DEMO Type 4 Tape After Refurbishment

A clients deck in for service with the complaint that it may not rewind all the way to the end of a tape but plays ok. Would like it to be fully sorted for the next 20 years. Found the usual lack of lubrication and slack capstan belt. The back tension belt was missing - until It was found inside the case resembling curled up black tar. The transport was of course rebuilt with new belts then reinstalled. All electrolytics were changed. The power supply was upgraded to 25V caps. All orange polypropylene caps were swapped out too. What a pleasure these decks are to work on. Everything is easily accessible in the main.
