______________________________________ coloring: mine This honestly took way more time than I intended to spend on it given that I know a lot of people will hate on this solely because they hate the show buuut BUT I saw The Fellowship in the theaters when I was 7 or 8. When my peers were reading Harry Potter I was rereading LOTR every year. LOTR itself is a huge part of my life & I guess it pretty much formed my taste in everything else. And… I didn’t hate the show? Sure, the Arondir & Bronwyn plot is meh and Galadriel is... a mess here (though they did try to do some character growth with her and don’t get the hate for the actress). But the rest of it? I don’t mind Nori and Poppy basically being genderbend Frodo and Sam. The harfoots and Gandalf parts of the show were honestly AMAZING, I cried more than once, and The Wandering Day had me crying twice during what, 3 minutes? It brought so many warm childhood memories of LOTR for me. Eldrond and Durin? 100% Legolas and Gimli vibes AND I’M HERE FOR IT! We got Adar even though we never knew we needed him! I loved Halbrand as Halbrand, and even though him being Sauron creates quite a few plot holes I guess I’m at a point in life where I just say, ‘Eh, so what?’ Because that show made me laugh, cry, made me feel good SO MANY TIMES that I cannot be bothered with nitpicking. It’s one of the only things that kept me going for the time of its run while the world around is becoming more and more Mordor-ish, so just let me enjoy...
