In this lesson, I want to share with you 3 All of Me jazz arrangements (from easy to intermediate) and my thought process behind it, in the hope that it will motivate you to create your own ;) NEW BOOKS & BUNDLE: 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: RH: Melody - Play around with the rhythm & syncopation. Try to vary your syncopations every time you play through the song. LH: Two Feel Bass Line Beat 1: Root (or the 5th - if you have the same chord in the next bar too) Beat 3: 3rd or 5th (or play the Root again one octave higher or lower) If you want to learn more about walking bass and variations, check out my "How to Play Jazz Blues - The First 10 Steps" here: To learn more about the basic steps of learning a new jazz tune, check out these lessons: How to Learn New Tunes (Autumn Leaves) Yardbird Suite 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟐: RH: Syncopated Melody LH: Two feel Bass Line + Counterpoint 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 - Whenever the melody rests on a long note, you can _activate_ your left hand to play a short melodic line. If that feels difficult in the beginning, you can also just play a more active walking bass line. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬? My melodies are based on chord notes, and sometimes I spice them up with some chromatic approach notes. Try to create a 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 effect between the two hands.
