May 2021 Adventure S01E01 - A Matter of Perspective (Subaru Ascent, Forester and Baja off roading)

In May 2021, Rob, Ryan, Zach, Haley and Rob went on an epic adventure, off roading for hundreds of miles throughout Utah and Arizona, driving a Subaru Ascent, Subaru Baja and Subaru Forester, visiting five National Parks and many National Forests and National Public Use Lands. In the process, we raised over $2,500 for the National Park Foundation. These videos are our adventures! Episodes are divided into three series: ■ Series One - Trip Perspectives We discuss various off-roading perspectives, tips and things we learned along the way. ■ Series Two - The Travel Log In this series, we show you our daily adventures, with cool hikes, many miles off roading, and some gorgeous photos of some seldom seen locations. ■ Series Three - Off Roading This three part series is dedicated solely to our off roading adventures, showcasing some of the highlights of the adventures of each car. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= SOME NOTES ABOUT THIS VIDEO: ■ The sound you hear from my car at 5m09s is the accessory belt. All three Subarus went through that at some point, from all the super fine rock-dust (aka "sand") all over Moab. ■ The 140 foot climb (USGS map in the video) is over the span of about 1,500 foot total travel distance. ■ The TR690 CVT driven Ascent has 4.444:1 final drive gearing, and a really nice crawl that *climbs* REALLY well with three or all four wheels solidly on the ground (as you can see in the second part of its climb). ■ The Ascent TR690 never passed 212° and...
