Fabiola Aguilar and her door 'Perception' Since childhood, a love of drawing and an eye for design was very apparent in Fabiola. Making three dimensional and tactile art was something she felt naturally called to do. To this day, experimenting with a variety of art mediums brings her joy. During the nineties, Fabiola enrolled in several art classes at Truckee Meadows Community College. These included classes in pottery, print making, watercolor, photography, welding, and silversmith. Taking the silversmith course led her to set up a home-based jewelry studio. Over the next twenty years, Fabiola produced unique, hand-made silver jewelry. In 2015, when the desire to take formal oil painting classes called, Fabiola enrolled in courses at the E.L. Cord, Nevada Museum of Art. Fabiola enjoyed the still life painting class so much it inspired her to continue working with oils. Statement from the artist: Acknowledging how perceptions can deceive. Internally and externally, My Angel honors the spirit and light of life, symbolizing love, hope and faith. She stands at the French doors, holding a heart in her palms. She offers the opportunity to accept new challenges and new ways of constructive living. She opens the doors and allows in new ways of perception. #recovery
