In the third episode of Tales of the Great Lakes: Eric attempts to uncover the true origin of Thousand Island Dressing. He investigates three theory&the Oscar Tschirky and The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel theory, the Chef Theo Rooms and The Blackstone Hotel theory, and the Sophia Lalonde and May Irwin theory. After scouring the newspapers, he found a possible fourth theory that has to do with the Baltimore Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. Eric also sets the stage by telling the story of the First Nations people who called the Thousand Islands "The Garden of the Great Spirit," and he looks at the wars that have been fought around the islands.
