A brief demo of the sound of the Yamaha BB 735A 5 string bass. Made in Indonesia. The bass was recorded via PreSonus Studio 68c card directly into the OBS software without any effects, equalization, compression, normalisation or postprocessing. This is the most clean sound I was able to get directly from the instrument. 0:00-0:33 picked bass (plectrum), both pickups, passive, tone 50% 0:34-1:00 fingerstyle, neck pickup, tone 50% 1:00-1:27 fingerstyle, bridge pickup, tone 50% 1:28-1:57 fingerstyle, both pickups, tone 60% 1:58-2:10 slap, both pickups, tone 50% 2:10-2:37 slap, both pickups, active preamp, bass+20%, middle -20%, treble +20% 2:38-3:36 fingerstyle, both pickups, tone 60% from 3:37 chromatic notes on all strings, open string sustain Technical details and comments: The 3-piece alder/maple/alder body is quite a big one, but ergonomic. Looks nice in a dark coffee sunburst gloss finish. The maple/mahogany neck has a rosewood fretboard with 21 frets. The back of the neck is matte which makes positioninng of the left hand very smooth and fast. The split coil pickup at the neck has a bit different sound than classical Fender Precision bass. The single coil pickup at the bridge adds definition and clarity; inline in other basses with the P+J combination, this one can be soloed and still sounds quite full, definitely not a thin sound. The bridge pickup is a single coil so it adds some hum when engaged. The controls are as follows: Volume, Balance, Bass, Middle...
