The first bonus location has been added to Dirt Rally 2 this week with Rally Monte Carlo from Dirt Rally 1. Here you can see me completing the shortest Monte Carlo stage in both Dirt Rally games with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X from the R4 class. In my first version of this video I used the default car setting in each game, which resulted in Dirt Rally 2 being much slower because of the poor default tires in that game. For this version now I have changed the tires in DR2 and also changed to the manual launch there. Now I achieved almost the exact same time in both games, which makes for a nice side by side view. DR2 gives you winter tires for this stage by default and also lists them as "recommended" but it turns out that soft tires are actually a whole 10 seconds faster here. I also used the manual launch in DR2 this time to eliminate the annoying delay that you have with the automatic launch in that game. With the soft tires the DR2 car doesn&feel quite as bad anymore on this...
