A playthrough of Acclaim&1991 license-based platformer for the NES, The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World. In this playthrough, I collect all of the hidden Krusty collectables, unlocking the final stage and the best ending. There are no aliens to thwart this time around. Instead, The Krusty Show hosts an art competition sponsored by Mr. Burns. Bart enters and wins, not knowing that the competition is merely a contrived ruse to lure Bart into situations in which he might easily be murdered by Mr. Burns&relatives. There are four main levels to work through: you fight Fu Manchu Burns in China, The Abominable Snow Burns at the North Pole, Ramses Burns in Egypt, and Eric von Burns in Hollywood. The stages are more focused on precision platforming than the item collection of Bart vs. the World, making it feel like a very different game despite the similarities in graphics, sound, and controls. Most areas have you throwing cherry bombs at enemies as you leap between tiny platforms in search of the exit sign. Most of the stages are wide, open areas that encourage exploration, and there are tons of items tucked away in the corners if you care to go looking for them. The controls feel just as awkward and rigid as they did in Bart vs. the Space Mutants, and the stages are loaded with jumps that require both A and B to be pressed at the exact same time. It can be super frustrating in a couple spots (especially in the first North Pole stage), but for the most part, it works, and...
