For our time in the Golden State, we spent one day road-tripping up the Pacific Coast Highway through the Redwoods! Consisting of one national park (Redwood National Park) and three state parks (Del Norte Coast, Jedediah Smith, and Prairie Creek), the Redwood park system is the only one of its kind being jointly managed by both the National Park Service and the California Department of Parks and Recreation. And while it’s impossible to see and do everything in the 139,000 acres of the Redwoods park system in one day (or even one week!), we were able to hit some of the must-see spots like, Chandelier Tree, Avenue of the Giants, Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Stout Grove, and more!
