Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 Transfer Case Control Module - how to replace and fix noise during start up

Our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel was making a knocking noise for a few seconds during start up that was coming from underneath the middle of the car. It was also clunking into second gear. Replacing the transfer case control module was a quick and easy fix.
