Surfskate SMOOTHSTAR Filipe Toledo First impressions After a week here is a quick video on the performance of the smoothstar 77. At the beginning I noted the change from one surfskate to another, but after some adjustments and practice I can say now that it’s fantastic! Like the name itself, smoothstar is the word, it’s like truly surfing... Believe it or not, I see improvements, I’ve been a surfer for 30 years, I was better when I was a teenager, now I’ve moved to Madrid, far from the sea, and I only surf one to two weeks a year, so I’ve lost it all. Tired of seeing my old days far away, I’ve started to train and preparing my self to when the time comes I take the opportunity and recover the technique and performance I had before coming to Madrid. I mean, standing up and surf the wave you never loose, it’s like riding a bike, but you loose the flow, your carves are worse... Recently, when training, I’ve discovered the Surfskate, and it’s when I begun to recover my flow, it’s helping me a lot, because almost every day I surf on the concrete. This way when I go to the beach, I see an evolution and not the other way around like before. Also in Madrid we have an artificial river wave Citywave Madrid where I can also go and complement my training, specially bottoms and cutbacks.
