Today, I am going to do the rose review for a vintage David Austin rose ~~ Queen Nefertiti. I have grow this rose from bare root since April this year. So, this rose is still relatively new in my garden. From what I observed so far, it is a rose that is not suitable for humid area. Why do I say that? Queen Nefertiti can get ball very easily under high humidity. It actually sent out blooms flush after flush from spring until now. However, I have lots of rain this year from April until September. But almost all the blooms being balled and not able to open well. Second, it is a candy for thrips. Oh, thrips love it soooo much!! They always attacked this rose. Last, it can get blackspot really easily, which is a problem in my high humidity area. I finally get this rose bloom beautifully for me now in fall when our humidity is low and I have minimal present of thrips. Now, let&talk about the strength of this rose. First, it has a beautiful range of color from pink to apricot to cream. I can get all 3 colors in one bloom and it reflect on the bush, which is very unique. Next, the bloom last very long on the bush. It can last for a week on the bush, which is really rare for David Austin rose. Last, like I said before, it is a great bloomer and always bloom in flush. I think I get easily 4 to 5 flush from this rose since I planted in April. Again, if you are in the dry climate area, I think it is worth growing.
