Tolkuchka oriental bazaar was an extensive market sprawled across the desert suburbs of Ashgabat, in Choganly, Turkmenistan, a few kilometres from the city centre. It was the largest open air market in Central Asia. The market thrived on Sundays and selled a massive range of goods, from Turkmen carpets, handicrafts and silks, jewelry and jeans to laundry soap, plastic bags to bales of rice. It also had a notable camel and used car market. Old "Tolkuchka" bazaar was demolished and new bazaar, called "Altyn Asyr" oriental bazaar was rebuilt in 2011. In the slideshow there are several photos from car and carpet markets. Music:
