The project started in the US many years ago by a companny called Gill Marine. Then moved over to Sweden with CIMCO before it evolved into what it is today - the OXE, the BPU unit. Basically it&using an automotive based engine using an inboard type hydraulic transmission and the belt transferring the power to the propeller instead of the conventional bevel gear system. The OXE diesel is a real diesel engine from a car company. That means that it¬ a converted petrol engine. It is powerful and reliable outboard diesel engine.
