The objective of this project is to create a 3D printed FANUC robot that has movement and is controlled by the user. This project introduces people to industrial robots and demonstrates how this type of robot works on a smaller, safer scale. Extensive SolidWorks 3D modeling was used to design each component of the robot arm and the CMU MakerBot Innovation Center was used to 3D print the large elements. An Arduino Uno, IR remote, and servo motors of various strengths were implemented to create movement to allow an electromagnet picks up a desired object.
