Canon EF-S 15-85mm IS Review

My thoughts and review on the Canon EF-S 15-85mm IS USM. Last year, I was on the market for a single lens that I could carry with me while traveling. In this approach, I came across this particular lens which is the Canon 15-85mm. This is a zoom lens that covers a 24mm to 135mm focal range on a 35mm equivalent full-frame camera. This lens is a purpose-built for Canon line of crop sensor DSLR camera. To the now common photo enthusiast, this lens was introduced in 2009 which is a successor to the Canon EFS 17-85 mm. This lens boasts an improve 15mm at the wide end and wider aperture at f3.5. This is a significant improvement, especially in the wider focal range. 15mm is equivalent to 24mm on the full-frame comparing to 17mm on the previous iteration which is close to 28mm on full-frame. The Canon 15-85mm is also part of the higher-end kit lens when purchased with the 7D mark ii. Furthermore, the Canon 15 85 mm houses an EFS mount. This meant that it isn’t compatible with Full frame Canon DSLR which supports only EF mount. However, the mount can be adapted to other canon systems such as the EOS M and EOS R lineup. This is especially useful on the EOS R as the camera has a 1.7x crop when shooting video in 4K mode. Canon EFS lens is also is a cheaper alternative compared to its EF counterpart lenses. On the image quality side, the lens improves upon its predecessor and on par with the 17-55 f2.8 lens. The sharpness and quality I had obtained from using this particular lens...
