250 years ago. Crimea first became Russian. Thanks to the victory of the army of Duke Dolgorukov over Turkish troops. By decree of Empress Catherine the Second, the army of Duke Dolgorukov undertook a campaign in Crimea. After a successful assault on the Turkish rampart, Kafa, Kerch and Yeni-Kale were taken. And in 1774, as a result of the battle of Shuma, Turkish troops of the peninsula were expelled. And Crimea, in fact, came under the control of the Russian Empire. So, almost 250 years ago, and not at all in 2014, as it is considered by many, Crimea first became part of Russia. Thanks to the selfless actions of the army, successful diplomatic moves and the determination of the military leaders of the army of Duke Dolgorukov. Separately, the famous episode of a wound in the eye of a young Mikhail Kutuzov in the battle of Shuma during the exile of the Turkish troops is considered. The film was shot with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
